FALLEN
When I close my eyes, I see Yotsuya Samon. A once-honoured ronin, he has become a whispering force seeking revenge. Yotsuya moves silently through illusive landscapes, never uttering a word. His sword, gleaming with purpose, cuts through enemies, building a circle of horrors around me. The line between dreams and reality blurs. I am haunted by his glowing eyes. No matter how fast I run, Yotsuya is always there. Watching from the shadows, waiting.
This visual fantasy is inspired by Yotsuya Kaidan, a classic 1825 Japanese kabuki play that tells the tragic tale of Tamiya Iemon, a ronin who murders his father-in-law, Yotsuya Samon. Yotsuya had insisted that his daughter, Oiwa, separate from Tamiya. The play is filled with dramatic events and explores themes of betrayal, revenge, and supernatural intervention.
